Video- Chigo Humour

Memoirs from my weight loss journey...D story so far

I recently found out I have lost some significant body weight.
Over 10kg since I had my baby last year and actually weighed myself in January. Infact it was Pdoc who drew my attention to the actual figure. I knew I had lost weight but I was not sure how much...I hated weighing myself- twas a mournful event!

Fast forward to these days,I feel lighter when I wake up in the morning, no back aches, waist pains, headaches etc

I'm not where I want to be yet, but I am somewhere at least close to the roundabout which is usually close to the junction which is close to where I am going to and I want to encourage myself.

People have asked me how I have been doing it seeing that I still eat well and I am not doing any of these crash course diets or swallowing highly coloured tasteless substances or pills hence I decided to show some love to at least one person on this blog who might be interested in this scheme of things.

1. I made up my mind! I decided to make lifestyle changes. Too many diseases and conditions being traced back to nutrition.

2. I fell in love with fruits and salads (used to HATE them). Fell out of love with rice bread,yam,...though they still beg me to take them back but I hang on for dear life to my lettuce and cabbage. I eat my rice and company like 3ce a week as opposed to 4 million times a week before.

3. No sugars whatsoever that means I drink water for a living...no sodas, no cubes, no juices just water. Even if you take me to a party, restaurant or bar, the highest I can do to shake the water up is ask them to add lemon slices and ice cubes.

4.I stopped eating late...max 8pm then nothing goes in except water (this one is the one that gave me a swift tummy tuck....though there is room for improvement with exercises which I have also introduced recently)

5. I visited a nutritionist for validation of the steps I was taking and she said amongst many t.hings to eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a beggar

6. I drink self discipline and play a lot with my imagination...I imagine borrowing a dress from my slim friends and fitting into them...snugly.

The joy is in the journey actually...lol

I enjoy reinventing myself...change is the only constant thing in life, change is exciting when it is positive and in the right direction.

If you know me now you will not believe I was once blonde.* cough* cough*  Life is about changes.

So i'm enjoying the journey, the gasps from my friends, the way my clothes begin to float around me and generally buttoning things that could not button. Hehehee!

Try it.

In reward for my efforts a friend gave me a recumbent bike as an encouragement gift which I am falling in love with more and more and Pdoc walks with me round our estate in the evenings after supper (my night food aint dinner anymore its now supper...Lol!).

I also use the stairs more in buildings I am familiar with (dont have power for kidnappers) and  I day dream of getting and using my elliptic bike in my house, running on the tread mill, playing lawn tennis, swimming and jogging ( I believe these are adding value as well...the dreaming that is...LOL!)

I'm looking forward to more weight loss and a life of fitness, wellness and a sound mind. I wanna be fit and trim with a long healthy life, plenty clients, commitments and loads of properties...a perfect role model for my beautiful daughters and delicious eye candy for you know who *wink!.

Celebrating 10,000 hits

Yabadabadooo!! In the words of Mr. Flintstone (Holla if you know him...Lol)

So here is I celebrating with a big bowl of salad (you know i'm on a  diet) as my blog has hit and exceeded the 10,000 hits milestone in my 5 months of blogging.

Moreso is the view of my stats which tell me that these hits came from across all sorts of countries, gadgets and people. And then uncle google adsense then gave me yet another advert space to celebrate the hits.
If you want to know why this is such a big deal to me then you can visit HERE to learn more but for now, have a glass of water on me wherever you are....Lol!

We must all lose this weight together:)

Did I tell you I lost over 10kg since January? *wink* ...Ok so I will share my secrets in my next post.
P.S I told you in an older post that I am working on getting my old videos and uploading on Youtube right?
Well your girl is getting some good traction and they will be hitting you soon.

You can subscribe to my channel on Youtube (Chigo Otefe-Edebi) and as the videos drop you'll get an instant alert.

God bless Google.
God bless you dear "hitters" (Vintage, fresh and future)
Nough Respect!!!

One Love

Letter to one of my 7 banks

Special appeal to one of my 7 banks....you know yourself...the RED one.....as in the RED snobbish one.

I can totally relate and appreciate your desire to be in a class all by yourself.... after all that is what attracted me to you in the first place:)

However.com.uk, could you NOT take this snob appeal to the ATM level please (na beg i dey beg no be quarrel)...so many Atm machines rejecting your card except your orange friend and sometimes your other red acquaintance.

And i just feel its your fault, if you were not so "uppity" they would have been accepting your card eh now i have to take night bus out of where i am to where you are.

Even though its morning time mschewww....Haba!

If i didnt love you so much....

Please try and manage to find it in your heart to allow play with other banks at least at ATM level.

Thank you for accomodating my small change/coins.

Love Always

Video- Chigo d Compere @ work

Finally! Here is a video of my very great self if I may say so myself, after all this is my blog.

So a lot of persons have asked me tirelessly for my videos in fact i have lost some jobs due to this matter. No problem at all but he who runs away lives to fight another day....Gbam!

So I have been working on loading up all my old videos on my channel on You tube and on my blog. It has not been easy at all. Tracking down all my clients from over the years. Then the ones I can even track it has been a logistic nightmare. The videographers too....not helping.

However I am a bulldozer and will stop at nothing so its work in progress but the other day at the Naturals in the city meet up, my good friend Natural Nigerian recorded some videos which she has been uploading in bits so enjoy this one, more to come.

And I promise to stop at nothing to keep getting all my videos so people can really see Chigo at work. This video is for an event with a little crowd of women...about 50 plus or minus. Quite little for me. I have done, still do and can do 500, 1000, 1500, 5000...No shaking, no intimidation, no issues whatsoever. I am game any day, any time T.

If you have been a follower on this blog then you  know by now that all this effort is beyond the cash its just a medium to express myself. The joy is in the journey and I am loving every minute of it.

Touche!

IPAD wahala

Just want to dedicate this post to IPAD, Chipad, Galaxy tab, Blackberry playbook and every tablet or capsule out dia in da world.
Mbok!...Ol boy...going for events these days I just noticed that it is not an easy something...eku photography and video skills all you tab users...it is almost as if one must have a phone, a laptop and a tab these days.
Everyone flings their own out like a gun at a gunfight to do all sorts of things once even a fly is passing.
Both those that the thing is off oh...the thing is not working oh...they have not studied the manual oh..etc
Trust armed robbers and unarmed robbers..they must steal. Enemies of progress...Hiss!

I know someone who lost his at Benin airport to petty thieves... Nna eh what followed next was a documentary i will publish in future which I have titled..."The making of a heart attack!"

Hia!!

That is how someone flung out their Ipad and I flung out my new Galaxy 7.0 A.k.A Chitab....and Alas my tab was tinnier by far than the Ipad...the Ibo spirit in me rose up and I asked questions...

Nna why is ya tablet bigger than my own???...

This reminds me of the time when my 1st daughter was born and she had jaundice so she was in the baby ICU under the "light" and she was in her diapers as you can imagine so the light could reach all parts of her body well. So this IBO man had his son in the BICU as well but the child was in for diarrhea or something like that which did not need light and this man came in and charged out angrily demanding to know why his baby was not in diapers? Why his baby was wearing all his clothes? Why they did not give his baby's bed light after all he had paid his bills ....The noise and hullabaloo was phenomenal. Nobody knew where to begin explanation from. He even emphasized that his baby's diaper was imported and he wanted it exposed by all means. The only thing that saved the nurses that day was the excuse that mosquitoes would bite the baby.....long story.....I laughed for like 3 days. Hilarious things...education and exposure are treasures..fuggedabourrit! My eye saw something from that man and his wife and new baby while we were in hospital. They were my Africa Magic and Series combined. I didn't want either of us to be discharged at all again walahi!! Invite me to compere for your event and you might just hear the full gist...Lol!

So I asked my friend oh...why is ya paddd bigger than my tabbbb?

To which she responded that it is because my tablet was given to me  for free and if I wanted my Galaxy tab (a.k.a. Chipad) to be as fat as her Ipad (a.k.a hiPad)... that I should buy another tab and Cellotape or glue it to this one i now have and then and only then will my tabbbb meet up with her padddd.

My people na so?

No let me loss for Lagos oh while you guyns* are still alive oh....Lol!

Did I mention the peeps that use their own in some of these very posh churches?...My Gad, My Gad, My Gad ....many manicures have lost their lives.

Better seen than imagined...Effizy for Jesus!!!
 Preach it pastor!!!...Lol!
Steve Jobs na you cause this problem oh come and solve it.

Quote of the day

As seen on  someone's BB display status

"I am nothing but a pencil in the head of my creator"

.....I am speechless.

Somebody should ping Wale Adenuga biko. See the problem he is causing.

Congratulations Naeto

Dbanj-Tony Montana remix, Naeto on d mic, his bride Nikky....who be this guy wey wear coat?

Ikechukwuuuuuuuuuu causing locomotion...Lol!...These are the "Sunny Ades" of our time.
So today is Naetochukwu Chikwe's wedding
A.K.A Naeto stoptaggingmeunneccessarily C.
(as seen as his nomenclature on facebook...Lol!..I feel you bro)

What can I say....I knew him as a young boy. His sister and I were class mates in school and we are still very much in touch.

I am happy for the new couple. I pray the marriage lasts forever. Also hear Nikki got a Porsche Cayenne for marrying him * sigh* and mother said not to marry a musician.....Lol!....DBANJo made the announcement on behalf of the giver of the car at the wedding reception.

The thing is I understand someone hooked Naeto and Nikki up...and I know the person too...wink* wink*

SO I have actually seen some marriages that were a result of hook ups and my question is so hook ups work like this? I am dying to hook some people up oh because I know some fabulous girls and some smoking HOT guys but I worry.... oh how I worry....what if it doesn't work?  I should not play God...I do not have the liver. BUT.......You people should hold me oh....... OK let me mind my business.
Lol!!!!
Tell me what do you think about matchmaking? Be honest with me.

Great Expectations

OMG!!!! Your girl has been busy.

Just finished compering at my first daughter's school. They said she has graduated from pre-school with a Nursery diploma what can I say? I was so excited to hear the word graduate and diploma in the same sentence referring to my 4 year old, and in that excited state the proprietress coyly asked me to to be the compere for the graduation event and I agreed ...needless to say it was Pro bono but I had a wonderful time with the kids and the parents.

I am especially pleased with the teachers. My daughter was attending another school before and was bagging awards steadily but I was not satisfied. I didn't see my standards in her and I was so sure my daughter was not getting the value she deserved. I will forever be grateful to my two friends who nagged me to bring her to the school their kids were attending till I finally gave in. Much to Pdoc's joy because he too had been telling me he wanted us to move to this new school but I was still dragging my feet. The school is far...the school compound is small...they don't have a play ground....bla bla bla ...I had enough excuses but finally I moved her there and you know the funniest thing was that my friends told me I would see a difference in one week but I just waved their praises aside...I felt they were exaggerating or just wanted us to be "clique mums" because we attend the same church and our kids are in the same class in children's church but HONESTLY I saw changes in one week.

Positive changes. It was like the school read my mind. All the things I worried I was not seeing, I began to see.The money cost sha oh i.e twas an expense....first fees we paid we had to debit 3 accounts...Lol! but its worth it.

Back to today my baby didn't win any award unlike her former school where she was winning things per second but I didn't care because I know where we are coming from and I know she is a super star. I don't need the teachers to tell me that, I can see the difference.

MoralVille Academy thank you and keep up the great work.
I still desire that you get a bigger school compound and playground sha....You are in my prayers.

After the event my baby was sulking a bit because she didn't get a gift so I talked her out of it but we still got her one of these interactive lap tops in her favorite color and some reading furniture to go with it so right now she is so busy with the new things, I have time to blog *sigh*....

Don't  ask me where her baby sister is, If I go looking for her and she sets her eyes on me, I might not blog again.

Oh Sweet July

Oh sweet July! When i entered the month of July i didnt know it would be like this oh.
This month, yours truly has recieved a car and a galaxy tab totally free of charge. As in didnt pay a dime, was just an ordinary day and these things kinda, sorta, fell into my laps....hehehe
Infact.com i am blogging from the tab right now.
Cool huh? Na God
On another note last week i finally met the artist /comedian known as Chigirl...you know the female Blackberry voice with the very strong ibo accent...yep!
Twas a pleasure meeting her in person for the first time. Actually we were in same secondary school (college) but not the same set. We have loads of mutual friends but have never met until Sunday at my church event which i compered and she came to perform so now we have met and even i can be sure we are two different people ...Lol because it was becoming something else even people that know me in person and hear my voice daily would "accuse" me of being chi gurl and hiding it from them....as in even if i am Clark Kent or Hannah Montana!......How far?
So we met and it was totally cool.
We have a lot in common and it blows me away that she speaks about 5 languages apart from french and English so the Chigirl act i guess started as an outlet to let off steam.
Happy to know the babe hopefully she can teach me italian or spanish...Lol!

Come Rain! Come Flood !

Had a busy weekend

The rains didn’t make it easy

I truly wanted to crawl back into bed instead of attending the events *sigh*

I even thought of calling in sick...Lol

But I braved it...started early, got into traffic and arrived way on time for both events...One on Saturday 1.30 PM and the other on Sunday 6.30PM.

The first was the 3rd session of Naturals in the City at the Omenka Gallery (lovely spot by the way)..Ikoyi Crescent, Lagos

While the 2nd event was a fabulous 60th birthday bash for 60 guests at No. 60 Isaac John, GRA,Lagos ...(Zen gardens) ..talk about coincidences...lol

So well yours truly was on point at both events and all guests had a blast. They told me so themselves and I saw the honesty in their eyes.

I am proud of myself...didn’t let thunder, lightning, flood or rain stop me.

However Lord please send me my 4 wheel drive and driver very quickly so it can be so much easier and I can rest more to and from the events

Thank you sir

Happy JULY ...once upon a time..

Happy New Month everybody

The 1st of July 2012 is my parent’s wedding anniversary...38 years of marriage. Huge Congrats to them..

It was a Monday morning wedding or was it Thursday now?

My mum tied Yoruba Buba and Iro  (oleku style) and my dad wore a suit.. (they can be weird like that sha...Heck! they are my parents...an apple does not fall far from the tree).

it was in court...I’m not sure which one and the rest is history.

Congratulations to them

Coincidentally, that is also the date of when PDoc first told me he wanted to marry me 12 years ago.

I can’t forget that day...it was at my Ekosodin- Off campus residence UNIBEN.

It was early Saturday morning..I hadn’t had a bath, I’m not sure I had brushed my teeth but I’m sure food was on the fire and my roommate was in the kitchen...LOL!

Anyway my hair was scattered, I just loosened it and I was looking very bad then I heard a knock on the door and opened the door.

He was the last person I expected to see that morning but before I tell you what transpired next allow me back up a bit.....

You see PDoc and I had been friends for like 3 to 4 years by this time, we met at Iyare park at Mile 2, Lagos (or at least that was where I met him).

On his part he said he had been seeing me in UNIBEN and he knew my course, my friends, my clique etc.

It was a long wait for the bus so we got talking and became friends...many years down the line after a really cool friendship, he started telling me he had feelings for me ....I really didn’t have those feelings for him because I honestly had never seen him in that light... I liked him a lot but not in the light of a relationship.

So PDoc kept telling me he liked me a bit more than usual and he was getting more persistent by the day.

My friends told me he was always looking at me with so much love and that I should free him if I wasn’t interested but I really liked him and enjoyed his friendship.

He was fun to be with and very different from anyone I knew... so level headed and cool, quiet, kind and God fearing.

All my other friends were extreme extroverts like me...He was the only introvert I knew..... apart from my brother.

So I told my friends that he wasn’t saying anything so how can I free him?

“All he does is tell me he likes me ...he thinks these feelings are love....he thinks of me a lot....etc .

Ehm...... these are  not questions...these are  statements!”

So we came up with a plan...... a friend of mine would approach him and ask him about his feelings then counsel him to “ask me out” as in ask me to be his girlfriend.

Then since I wasn’t interested I would tell him NO and that will clear the air then we can go back to being friends. Very simple right?

WRONG!!!!!

So bros showed up at my door step Saturday morning looking very harassed.... he hadn’t had his bath either...his house was not too far from mine at Ekosodin.

Apparently my friend had spoken to him the night before and first thing this fateful morning  bros ran down to Ebony Hostel. Apparently he may have been confused of next steps to take with all these feelings and I wasn’t helping so this my friend had given him the Key * EUREKA* Rolling my eyes now*....Twas a disaster!

As I opened the door he just said “Chigo you already know how I feel about you, I haven’t hidden anything from you but now I want you to know that I want a relationship with you .......that is a relationship leading to marriage.”

My mouth was wide open, I didn’t know that the accumulated shock from seeing him at the door so early and the way he looked, the way I looked, the things he was saying........my mouth was OPEN!!

Then he kept quiet waiting for a response. Now If he had said girlfriend ...I would have said a big NO

but he said the M word...Marriage...and honestly he was good marriage material... all I could hear ringing in my brain was Not yet! Not yet! Not yet!

This confused me even more because I was so sure No was the answer but now with this M factor ......No didn’t seem quite appropriate.

So I opened my mouth to speak and nothing came out

He looked disappointed but he said to me “ this is the part you say you will pray about it” and I said ”Ok I will pray about it”...then he walked away.

After that day I started avoiding him, I broke his fragile heart, I sent someone older than both of us to tell him No....The guy not only told him No, the guy told him to face his studies and fellowship duties...medicine is a tough course...bla bla bla...My darling was so embarrassed he ran away from school for some days.

The events that unfolded are a very long but sweet story maybe someday I will update it but what is important is TODAY we are blissfully married and I laugh when I remember everything.
Note to my twenty something year old confused self back then.....Not yet!
He is THE one and you will have a beautiful, peaceful life together ...but Not yet!

The Holy Spirit was and is always right.

Hi five!
