Coping with people that bring pain....Wild cats!

Arrogant and generally unpleasant to have around; they seem to be all the other animals rolled into one.

They irritate, they are subtle, they tear you down, they play dirty, they are negative, and they hurt.

Worst of all-they are intentional!

Loving every moment of their rotten nature and the freedom they have to do their dirty stuff.

Every new level of rottenness is a cheerful, happy and pleasant adventure to them.

They get the idea to jump into a pool of mud and they just do it because they know they can and nobody will stop them.

So they take a big jump into the mud and get your beautiful, precious outfit messed up in the process and guess what – they don’t care that your feelings were hurt.

In fact most times they don’t even notice.

They are just happy that they succeeded at discovering a new level of rotten mud to play in and they did it- dirt is their nature and they are happy to play dirty.

How to Deal with them.

One simple statement…don’t trust a wild cat!

Hating him or her is a waste of time.

Bring out your entire defense line.

Be discrete around them, mount a battalion of sentries on the bridge, stay focused, keep hope alive, keep your distance, put on your armor in understanding and be very prayerful for them and yourself but I repeat, never ever trust them even in the most harmless looking situations not to mention trusting them with your precious things. The dirt is within, they cant change.

Coping with people that bring pain....PORCUPINES!

I’m hoping you already know them; these people are already upset with life generally (due to no fault of yours) they may look perfect on the outside, but have so much hurt sticking out of them like the needle spikes of a porcupine – of course the spikes grow from inside to outside.
So whether they reach out to you in a hug or you reach out to them with a hug, YOU will always get hurt and painfully so as they transfer their personal daily pains to you.

The porcupine was built to coil up as a defense mechanism and hurting others is far more a defense mechanism than an attack strategy. That’s just the way they are - whether attacking or defending, they will still hurt you.

How to Deal with them.

Two things come to my mind…patience and space!

A porcupine usually brings out it’s spike when it senses a threat whether real or imagined.

Just go along with them at their pace but keep your distance, walk by their side so they don’t hurt you.

However, if you must walk very closely with them, then deal with them from a place of understanding; get a clothing line fashionably made out of steel.

Protect yourself from head to foot and enjoy your lessons in needlework.

Coping with people that bring pain....BATS!!

Lol!

They love and choose to perpetually stay in the dark! These people
 are negative and pessimistic;

they boastfully tell you- It cannot be done!

They don’t necessarily work to actively pull you down like the crabs but just keep telling you- it can’t be done!

It’s not your type! It’s not for you! You can’t make it! Etc.

Sometimes they genuinely mean well but you notice the more you hang around them the dimmer your light of hope becomes.

Staying around them too long may even quench all your light of hope and make you abandon your dreams because you start thinking they are correct and your dreams are too good for little you.

How to Deal with them.

Bats shy away from light, at least so I gather from adventure-packed movies.
So don’t let them overwhelm you with their pessimism, let your light (faith and positive attitude) so shine brightly that it dispels their darkness.
If your fire is going out, you may need help from someone else who is also carrying a lamp (another positive person)
so sometimes to get free from the bat, you may even need to change the environment completely.
So don’t let that dream die, keep the fire burning!

Coping with people that bring pain...."CRABS!!!"

The “Crab” People

Simply put, crabs pull others down.

They back stab, spread rumors and do all in their power to keep you down.

You don’t readily detect them at first because on the outside they

look like you, sound like you and seem genuinely interested in your

progress

until you start talking about getting out of the basket and worse

still, before them.

How to Deal with them.

It takes a crab to pull a crab down, so don’t be another crab. Your statement should be no defense, no attack just stay focused on getting out of the basket. As you stay focused you start changing and he/she sees that you are no longer the same crab they used to know. They lose interest and let you go while they go find another crab to keep down.

So stay focused!

Coping with people that bring pain...."INSECTS"

Dwight of "The office" sitcom..perfect example of an insect!

The “Insect” People
These people are irritating...you know them now....they always say the wrong things at the wrong times and get on your nerves though usually appearing innocent and harmless to observers...they  nag you in a condescending tone sometimes or just apply steady sarcasm.

They offend you in a way that is constant and usually below the radar its as if you are the only one seeing what they are doing. Their stinging words buzz in your ears like the annoying buzzing of a male mosquito; not stinging or biting just buzzing endlessly!

To an observer who is not paying close attention or walking in your shoes, the actions of the “insect” might go unnoticed but your own reactions will continually be glaring as you wave frantically and complain of the unwelcome attention of the “insect”.

When you e-v-e-n-t-u-a-l-l-y explode from pent up frustration, it always seems out of proportion to the current offense and observers always wonder what is wrong with you and never the “insect person” …they then say you are too harsh.....and according to that insecticide advert (or was it malaria now)…that is how the man slapped the king…Lol!
How to Deal with them
The only language insects understand is BARRIERS! Such as nets, clothing etc and since we are actually talking human “insects” here, my advice is not to necessarily blow up the bridge that connects you to them but just place necessary boundaries.....keep it on a "necessary interaction basis" or else you are going to lose your mind one day and shoot somebody oh...these people are not worth the jailtime and being harassed by the homos in jail..trust me!....Lol!

I discovered a new live band.....

They may not be new but I just met them, and i think they are worth blogging about because OMG!! they were late, very late..they said their bus broke down.... in fact I started without them..we couldn't keep waiting for them...we used praise and hand claps to usher in parents and couple...don't worry it went well..trust me naaa and the couple smiled through it all...

However when the band arrived, set up and started singing....WOW!!

They did contemporary, foreign, local, gospel...just name it. The party ended, we said closing prayer and nobody moved ...they had eaten oh...but nobody moved including me...OK I was waiting for my car hire guy to come get me ...but what was everybody else's reason?...THE MUSIC!!

The band's name is 'Public sound' and voila the lead vocalist in pictures below...Amazing right?

Stop feeling sorry for yourself my dear ..do something with your life. There is no excuse for idleness.

Great voice he had I tell you.

The band ain't perfect yet, they need more branding, discipline, coordination, yes a new bus and more rehearsals (a good band can never get enough rehearsals) but they held a crowd and that is worth something. Please make some noise for public sound. Unfortunately I don't have the video yet *sigh*

If you like my dress.....

Then you will like my designer BBW...(Bold Beautiful Women) 07033125949.

"We want you Chigo"....Nneka Isaac Moses

Twas an ordinary but perfect day, I was going about my beeswax... (cartoon code name for business) and I got the call from Nneka Isaac Moses of Goge Africa fame that her hubby had seen me when I compered at Chidi Mokeme's wedding and some other anonymous person had joined voices with him to recommend me for their daughter's wedding as compere....Oh what a humbling experience and there I was thinking my ex- pot belly on You tube may have ruined my career as a compere ...LOL!

(Note to mothers... please send your daughters to finishing school it will help one day with posture et al).

So come this past weekend I compered the young Tracy's wedding to a very interesting young man called David. They were quite a happy couple and get this- David is very good with his hands ...he repairs stuff and Tracy while in school would always give him her phone to repair and he would repair it only 75% well so she was guaranteed to come back till he had the liver, kidney and gall bladder to ask for a relationship and then marriage, he has since bought her a new phone to replace the one he totally ruined...Lol!... How sweet.

See pictures below...

How much do you believe in yourself?

Steve Jobs was great not because he designed the IPAD and all other big things he did,....he was great even before he did these things...he believed in his ideas and kept pushing them till this his latent greatness manifested.

I have always heard my husband say as he heard it from Rev. Sam Adeyemi "you are not the poor...you are the rich trying to take steps to manifest your wealth" and I never ever understood what they were both on about. I thought it was just a very well arranged English excuse for saying "I no get money"...but looking at the life of Steve Jobs and reflecting on it as well as so many other "greats" I think I now understand fully.

We are great when we arrive...even when  nobody knows us or our ideas we are already great but as we believe in ourselves and take steps or maximize our opportunities (or lack of them for that matter), our greatness shines brighter and one day its a hit.

Believe in yourself that's all i'm trying to say.....Believe in yourself....you are already great.

What would you do if you were not afraid? What would we all do?.....Hmm need to advice myself first before advising you....Lol! still working on it *wink!

As seen on Twitter

"Being a female is a matter of birth, being a woman is a matter of age, but being a lady is a matter of choice"

Matse- Radio On Air Personality

True that!

Fashola & Lawmakers have mercy oh

I have read with great palpitations the Lagos traffic laws and concomitant penalty and I just want to ask our dear action governor Fashola and his lawmakers to have mercy. 3 years prison and hundreds of thousands in fines? ishudder!!!

I keep remembering times when LASTMA caught me for one ignoramus traffic offence or the other...sometimes due to traps they set for unsuspecting road users ...like hidden signs and all sorts of other gimmicks.

I hear Yinka Johnson (the banker lady whom they said killed a LASTMA official ...which then led to the unleashing of these laws)...is innocent. Long story short..A "Danfo" (public 18 seater bus) driver hit the official and they tried to pin it on her because they had already flagged her car down...a Land Rover/Range rover ...I'm not sure now.

If this is true then that is so sad ...my prayers are with her. I hear she is in cell with her 2 month old baby. My brother knows her very well and he confirmed all this...so so so sad.

God will deliver her oh.

Move to Abuja ..Bomb blast,

Move to Lagos...LASTMA ...I'm gonna try Abeokuta or Ibadan...who is with me? LOL.

It is well...don't buy gala on the road oh ..its not worth imprisonment. Ask Mandela.

HE IS BAAAACCCKKKKK

Praise God...to God be the Glory.
May God help him and his family
to move on in good health and peace of mind.
AMEN

Health Check..1! 2!

Have you noticed the surge of kidney problems in young people, or cardiac arrests in movie stars, or young people? It was so sad that I read about yet another young man who works in a radio station in Lagos and he needs a kidney transplant.

I have done some investigation of my own and found that this matter can  be largely  traced to stress which triggers High blood pressure which in turn can cause the kidneys to fail and vice versa (the kidneys failing can trigger HBP as well). I studied Biochemistry and I'm married to a doctor so this free consultation is authentic oh. * cough* cough*

Tis a sad matter when I read about this kidney failure thing in movie stars, entertainers and in recent times 2 radio on air presenters.

I have looked at it  or as my husband's people in Warri would say....I don check am.....and honestly these things can be avoided because I have traced the root cause to the following issues .

 1) People dont go to hospital in Nigeria for check up...bills, poor systems, whatever the reasons, they dont go. HBP can be picked up early especially if it is genetic and it can be managed via weight loss, diet management, drugs, lifestyle changes etc .

2) Nigerian Employers and movie associations/ professional bodies  etc should provide Health Insurance and use the services of Health Management organisations (HMOs) so their people can access health care whether they have cash or not and please there should be  nothing like "if I dont use the money let me cash it"....people should be encouraged to go for full health checks annually even if they don't fall ill. Even if it  means bringing the doctors to the offices or movie locations for health checks. It can save a life.

A lot of diseases when detected early can be managed or cured. Even HIV these days is no more a death sentence if detected early.

People should not be afraid of getting treatment or getting checked. I am speaking from experience. One day I may share more of my personal experiences but for now, trust me on this.

If you are an employer please help your employees access good health care... budget for it at the beginning of the year and help them...a lot of energy goes from them into building your dreams and vision and it affects their health...you may not see it now but it will tell in the long run...eyes, organs, blood pressure, etc these things need to be checked at least once a year or more. Put structures in place to help them do this.

Where does faith come in? God has said he will remove sickness from us by blessing our bread and water and He has said if and when we have challenges with our bodies ...healing is our bread. Free and available for us all but sometimes sadly people run play carelessly with their health and hide behind  the issue of faith and when it all backfires they make it look like God is no longer on our side.

Some people are afraid to go to hospital for tests because they feel the doctors will find something negative so they stay home and "faith" it until it gets worse. Some others are afraid of the medical bills and hide under "faith" and end up spending so much more in the long run moving from one place to another for help.

My personal policy in life is for you to be honest with yourself and with your God. Only then can true liberty come.

Face your fears with trust that God is going ahead, beside and behind you...thats the true journey of faith.

Like I said I have so many stories to tell but some other day.....for now please take good care of your today because it will definitely tell on your tomorrow.

MTN is giving away Airplanes as I hear.....

Hi people,*sigh* tried changing my picture on the blog profile  but due to slow network it proved futile so I'm going to try going without a picture for a while and see how that works for me after all - all is vanity ain't it?

So what have you guys been up to? I hear MTN is giving away airplanes infact scratch that ; a friend made me sit with him yesterday until he proved to me that MTN is giving away airplanes.

I hear its a 6 seater and if you are so favoured to win the raffle draw but you dont want a plane then MTN will give you 75 Million Naira only.

Right!!! lets breathe....these networks are not playing children's games at all....and some Korean president or so wants to give his olympian athletes refrigerators for winning medals...Mscheww!...Come to Nigeria and see how to use money.

So I have decided that when I win my plane I am not going to sell it like some of my friends were saying they would yesterday (you need to see our huge debate...none of us there even had MTN lines but did we care?...NO!!! we argued and shouted till we were almost escorted out of the building by security....Lol!)

So I have decided that WHEN I win my plane I will not sell it, I will start my own private airline...It will actually be a kind of hotel in the air and it will be for history making events like proposals, eloping lovers, first dates, merger deals and photo shoots....it can also be hired for peaceful spiritual retreats (Close to the heavens ...you see my point?*Wink! Wink!)

I'm saying I will use my plane as  an event center in the air available to  men and women of swagger, pump and pageantry. Fret not about your safety I have people in international aviation places to set up the safety something thingys.

Who will be my first client?

Drop a booking NOW!!! cos as I type, I am seeing yellow scratch cards everywhere. 1st 50 bookings get a 50% discount cos Chigo the Compere and airplane owner/landlady or is it air lady ....is in it to win it baby!

Fancy that..... a little Miss Branson in the making:)

Steve Jobs!

Mind over Matter!

This pix has been making the rounds "virally" and I just feel sorry for the guy because I dont think he was thinking about it...Lol! But that's the point isn't it? When you refuse to think, you do stupid things.

Tell me how many times you have forgotten your spectacles on your head and searched frantically for it until you looked in the mirror. Or left your phone/key in your pocket and nearly cancelled leaving the house just because you could not find them.

Please have mercy on this guy...though this is hilarious....LOL!

Pix of the day

Once heard a message by Daddy GO...Adeboye and he mentioned that he has been priviledged to see angels and that they were really HUGE and somewhat scary depending on what your state of mind is  at the time you see them.

So this pix was taken in SA...saw it on Linda's blog and oh my....I got so excited. It is so beautiful....I'm in awe.

I know some peeps think it is photoshop, funny clouds etc...for me it is an angel that got caught on camera somehow....and that makes me so excited.

Heaven is real my people and I look forward to going there one day in place of this world full of wicked, selfish, greedy, liars.....*sigh*
May nothing and no one keep me from my place in heaven ...Amen....

Take the whole world and give me my Jesus and my place in eternal rest...yah MAN!

Parkview Astoria has something HOT to offer you oh

Definitely setting the pace with ya croaker fish peppersoup MBOK!

So I have been staying at a cosy nice hotel in Ikoyi for some days...Parkview Astoria, Ikoyi, Lagos.
(Don't ask why? Long story!!)

The hotel is alright...cosy...quiet...comfortable etc...generally you can stay there if you need a place to lay your head...you will enjoy it... but that is not the gist.

The gist is that the croaker fish peppersoup is off the chain.

The salad is crap (at least the one I had tonight...no one has ever beaten Cactus salad so far for me in Lagos...maybe its all that crispy lettuce they pile on) but back to the gist....this croaker fish peppersoup is so perfect its worth blogging about.

Not for the fainthearted though.
I'm talking mega HOT & SPICY but yet wholesome and nourishing.

I can't explain it, you have to try it.

I have had it every night for the 3 nights I have been here so far (Cant even see beyond it to order anything else) and it is always so painful to get to the last drop *sigh*

Too bad it didnt come from my kitchen so I can go back for seconds and thirds and fourths etc.

I repeat though...NOT for the fainthearted! Drink carefully....sorrounded by cold drinks and airconditioning for full action and reaction effect....Lol!

Quote of the day/ Hot spot secret for the day

" I don't sweat, I am a woman, women don't sweat.....Horses sweat! Men perspire,Women GLOW!" -Lolo Eremie...Fast rising songstress.

Watch her do her music & dance stunts at Bogbobiri off Awolowo road, Ikoyi every Thursday and Friday from 7 PM.

There are drinks and finger foods available but bear in mind that this is Lagos....No free lunch/dinner/supper in Lagos!

You can wait the island traffic out there.

You can also wait the island traffic out at the Garden Cafe located behind the Omenka gallery...No. 20/21 Ikoyi crescent off Osbourne road, Ikoyi Lagos.

I recommend  both spots for informal and semi formal functions as well- absolutely fabulous ...honestly an evening relaxation prescription waiting to happen especially with Lolo and her friends playing music and reciting poetry in the background ...give it a try, but I warn you ..dont get addicted. Addiction is never a good thing...Lol!

Open Letter to Nigerians in Diaspora

Dear beloved countrymen, women and children living or hiding in a foreign land,

I gladly write to inform you that (at least in my own neighbourhood), power has been stable for some weeks now....infact months.

I testify that in some cases the power does not blink for like 72 hours in a row and when it even blinks, they bring it back shortly after.
Last time we tracked our fuel expenses for the beloved but battered  generatorsssss, fuel expense had significantly dropped by at least 50% for the past 3 months and infact since January this year it has been steadily declining.

This is a testimony in my home because there was a time when all Pdoc's earnings were just draining directly into fuel and diesel and burning out as carbon monoxide. Needless to say there wasn't much left to buy me flowers, jewels, designer ensembles and chocolates.

I am particularly happy about this development of constant power supply because it was  very frustrating  hearing so many generators at night. I had to lock windows and suffer the risk of suffocation, heat rash and all other attrocities for my family and just so I could shut out the noise of the zillions of generators around *sigh*

What can we say at this point, who do we praise at this point? I'm not going to praise the government or the management of PHCN o jare...they have not settled me...Lol!

I'm going to Praise God whom we all have been crying out to for so many years and He has answered us with increased water levels which flood the dams and boost energy levels for power to be generated....*feeling so intelligent and technically savvy right now*

Thats my angle and i'm sticking with it.....So my dear Nigerian friends in diaspora as you can see...there is hope for our giant baby Nigeria.

Let the prayers continue....Baba God is hearing loud and clear  afterall the generators have been silent for a while now:)

More power to you people.
