Quotes from a wise man *New*

"When you want to eat an elephant..you've got to take it
bit by bit" ....Rev. Sam Adeyemi
Notice he didnt discourage eating the elephant,
neither did he say it was impossible
...gotta loooveee my pastor.

Growing up

"If you jump up you will fall down, but if u grow up you can only go further". Fela duruotoye

Pdoc and I heard these words in a program Fela spoke at in 2008 or 2009 and we have meditated on these words through the years and we have come to see that it is sooo true.

God is a God of process! Yes miracles happen but there is always a plan!!!

Miracles are the icing on the cake.

However, these days people want to put the icing before the cake. What am I saying? Forgive me! They just want the icing.. Period!

But the icing will melt my dear if you do not have a sustenance plan.

God has sustained this world in its balance not by miracles but by a process, hence creating an endless job for scientists to keep researching the why and how things exist etc. No matter what you want to achieve in life: loose weight, build an empire, understand the word of God, make money, have a great marriage?.....whatever you want to achieve in life my darling you need to be ready to follow the process. You need to GROW!!!!

Yes miracles can happen along the way but you see dear friend, miracles are supernatural.

It is God that decides those ones. We have no control over miracles. The whens and how!! But we have control over the process. So my love, go to school, learn a trade, start that business, read a book, take a walk, eat healthy, one step at a time ....GROW!!!! Anything you are struggling to achieve today is not because you can't achieve it (after all those who have done it don't have 2 heads) but because you have not GROWN...you have not built enough capacity. When you do, it will flow naturally.

Even in raising children, try as you may to force them to walk before their time, when it is time, they will walk! Trust me they have been watching and rehearsing since day 1 but they hadn't grown strong enough yet. Our society is filled with people who want to jump up and sadly some people are calling it faith. Rev. Sam calls it Talisfaith!! As in talisman plus faith....Lol!

I have come to learn and see that true success that is sustainable from generation to generation is not automatic. It takes a process. Therefore I have no time or respect for "get rich quick" people, schemes or opportunists. Once I see you do not respect time, planning, process, integrity, accountability and governance....ABC ya!!!

Beautiful Geh!!!

Another Event Gist...

This one was at a hotel in Ikeja. I have forgotten the name but its in G R A, on the road to country club. Twas fun. Key note speaker was chairman Enterprise bank. He said to me "Girl I don't know where they found you but you've got yourself another job". Unfortunately I was busy and far when he left so couldn't give him my card. I hope when he needs me God will send an angel to hook us up. Amen. Lol!

I also met the MD of Slot systems whom I had been looking for all this years just to tell him "well done". You see back in the day when I was a banker, I used to co-manage Slot account and among our duties was to go pick up his cash daily, after sales. That time (2002) he had only one branch in computer village. Even then, it still had something unique about it that made 50 percent of computer village customers flock to SLOTS.

People said it was jazz, it was this, it was that. Story, story.... Nigerians can mystify anything they do not understand ..including hardwork!!!

Many years later the guy has branches all over the place and is doing some strong deals with multinationals on the same product... phones and devices!!!

Who says you can't grow a legitimate business in Nigeria?

At that event he was in attendance with the same wife I have known since the beginning and he gave away an IPad, 2 BB bold and 2 HTC phones and it reminded me how over the years I have come to see that the more wealthy you are the more you attract freebies or opportunities.

I have attended several golf events where people won brand new cars and I rolled my eyes wondering what those golfers would do with one more car added to their existing fleet.
Success opens you to more opportunities *ahem* poor man no dey play golf..... at least for 9ja!! Registration fee alone na some people annual bonus or rent. So do the math.

Anyways back to the gist I finally got to tell SLOT well done. Funny thing is that he even recognized me before I recognized it was him..... after all these years....  Lol! I can be so horrible with faces and names...God help me *sigh* .

Thumbs up Nnamdi Ezeigbo

Shamless Men...Mscheww!

One of the events I did in December. ....I was particularly upset after it because  2 of their senior officials started toasting me after.

I was angry for days.

Why do some men objectify women? Do I look like a loose woman?

And they are married men oh, their wives and even children were there.

That was the 1st time in my compere career something like that was happening to me.

Or is it because I have lost weight? Lol! You see it wasnt that kind of toasting someone on the road sees you and starts to blab, these guys were ....just shameless!!! Mschewww

Anyway my PDoc consoled me and told me to ignore them. One is even a foreigner sef. Mschewwwww!

Dear God please keep such people far away from me.

They make me wanna down my compere tools, run away and hide.

Don't turn my joy into shame biko!!! Shameless men.

Beyond 3D BABY!!!

At the beginning of the year while studying God's word and preparing for 2013 I stumbled on some amazing truths that have really encouraged me. Abraham, Job, Daniel, Ruth even David....what do all these people have in common?...Out of tragedy came their blessings or promotions.

I never knew that after Job was healed and prayed for his 3 friends, his friends and family started visiting him and each person gave him a gold earring with a gold coin and I believe from there he started his business again, paying attention to his offerings and sacrifices and before you know it, he was wealthier than before. Wow!

Abraham lost his wife to a king and must have suffered some level of guilt (for thwarting the truth and being such a coward..seriously!!) Then there must have been the emotional trauma of losing his sweetheart... but when the king found out Sarah was his wife and not his sister, he asked him to go with the huge bride price he had initially given to Abraham and that was how Abraham's road to massive wealth started...check it out.

Also check out how Daniel got his first promotion, it was in the midst of a fearful time in his life where he was among some people marked for death.

Then Ruth...she lost her husband and that triggered some changes and God consoled her with a new exciting experience.

One thing remained consistent through them all, they held unto God no matter how dark the situation seemed.

I am still being blessed by these stories as I meditate.

The bible is such a multi flavoured, multi dimensional book...beyond 3D baby!!!

The valley of the shadow of death!

"The shadow of a dog has never bitten anyone" ..Rev. Sam Adeyemi quoting Kenneth Copeland.

There is death. Then there is the shadow of death. Then there is the valley of the shadow of death. These are 3 different places which look alike but are not the same.

The closest I can explain is when someone or the loved one of someone is diagnosed with cancer or fighting with cancer or any disease for that matter. That to me can be described as the valley of the shadow of death.

Its not quite death, but you can feel the weight of the shadow hanging above and waiting to swallow.... But David said he would not fear because God has promised to be there through it all, and together they will come out of it safe and sound.

Just like He was with my mum and my family all through her fight against cancer in 2011/2012. She is alive and well praise God following surgery, chemo, radio therapy, endless visits to LUTH and battery of drugs. The worst is over, the best is ahead and we are grateful to God. Join me pray for everyone fighting against cancer or other horrible diseases....it is not for even my enemies in Jesus name.

Not that I have enemies though..Lol!

Dry bones shall rise again. Thank you Lord.

HOMEMAKERS!!

Yes! Homemakers... We have done 13 episodes and we are on a break so sponsors can review and we too can reassess.

It took off quickly and a lot of issues were compromised.

So some things need tweaking.

We promise to return with a BANG!!!!! Amen.

Even my mum is on my neck for the show to return. Lol

Reasons why I stopped blogging

1)You guys don't comment so I felt no one was reading. Hence my surprise when I stopped and I started getting messages that you were missing me. Ok yes, I see the blog traffic but it still doesn't stop me from wanting you to share your own experiences and respond to me. *sigh*

2) There is this annoying spam that sends me a hundred alerts and I got upset especially since.... you guys were not commenting. Lol!

3) 2 or 3 stories that I would rather not get into here that got me down (mood wise) but could have  easily been solved if you guys were...commenting!!!

4) You guys were not commenting ...Ok! I have said that severally. Let's not turn it into a D Banj track... So please comment. Its supposed to be interactive. That's the fun in it for me.

In the meantime....
I repent of my non blogging ways:) kindly pardon me.

Chigoooooooo

So after listening to some people who actually read my blog, I'm blogging again.

Happy new year officially.

I was busy..yes (though that's not fully why)...in December I had back to back events (Praise God)..no pictures unfortunately....I prefer professional photos to camera phone photos *sigh*.

As I was saying, business was really good for me in December. Let me put it this way...may every month of 2013 be like that and more. Amen.

This month I have done 2 jobs so far: a corporate function and a beautiful wedding where they met through the mother of the groom giving her son the girl's number and the guy called her and liked her so much he kept it a secret how he got her number, got closer to her and the rest is history...

The wedding was a blast with so many ibo women in attendance I had to do a lot of ibo hailings for the women societies present..lol! Had fun sha.. so I'm thankful.

Full gist of other events coming up...as I remember.
